Mavi takes its name from the Turkish word for blue — a nod to the ocean that has shaped every part of its founder’s life. Whether on a board or a boat, Madison Gentry has always been drawn to the water, and the brand was born from that love and a commitment to wellness.

Years of long days in the sun left her skin inflamed and sensitive, and nothing on the shelf was both honest and effective: after-sun products were either loaded with synthetic fragrance and pharmaceutical ingredients, or too thin to do anything at all. So she set out to create what she couldn’t find — a non-toxic, deeply nourishing after-sun cream designed to soothe, hydrate, and restore.

A note from the founder

Why I made Mavi

I have spent most of my life on or near the water. Whether I’m on a board or a boat, I’ve always been drawn to it — and in Palm Beach, that means a lot of hours under a serious sun.

For years my skin paid for it. It came home inflamed, sensitive and tight, and every after-sun product I tried made me choose between something that worked and something I was comfortable putting on my body. Most were full of synthetic fragrance and pharmaceutical ingredients; the “clean” ones did almost nothing.

So I started from scratch. I wanted a cream that calmed the inflammation first, hydrated deeply, and let the glow of a day outside last — made with ingredients I could read and trust. That became Mavi Glow: 99% naturally derived, vegan, and free of anything I wouldn’t use myself.

Mavi is the Turkish word for blue. It’s the colour of the water that started all of this, and a reminder of what the brand is for: slow days in the sun, taken seriously — and skin that feels as good as the day did.
